The winners of the CIE Tours International Annual Awards of Excellence were announced on Monday 28th January, at a gala event in Dublin’s City Hall.
The honours were presented by Peter Malone, Director; Vivienne Jupp, Chairman; and Elizabeth Crabill, Chief Executive Officer, CIE Tours International.
The awards are presented based on feedback received from over 32,000 customers throughout the year. Each of the CIE Tour partners who qualified for an award achieved a customers satisfaction rating of over 92% in feedback.
Winners included Dromoland Castle (Best 5 Star Hotel), Cahernane House Hotel (Best 4 Star Hotel), and Dooly’s Hotel (Best 3 Star Hotel). Atlantic Sheepdogs in Sligo picked up the Best Sheep Dog Trial, while the National Heritage AWard was given to Glenveagh National Park.
Merit Awards were also presented on the night to 64 hotels and tourist attractions.
Congratulating the 77 award winners, Elizabeth Crabill, Chief Executive, CIE Tours, said: “2018 was a fantastic year for the tourism industry in Ireland, with next year expected to be as good, in spite of uncertainties created by Brexit and other external factors.”
