Oisin Kelly, Head Bartender at the Westbury Hotel in Dublin, has been crowned the winner of one of Ireland’s most hotly-contested cocktail competitions.

The national final of the inaugural Shed Distillery Curious Journey Cocktail Competition, hosted by Dalcassian Wines & Spirits, took place on Monday 22nd July at House Dublin.

45 bartenders from leading venues around Ireland battled it out for one of four places in the national finals.

The four finalists were then given 10 weeks to create their own cocktails in a bid to impress the judging panel which included Aaron Wall of Homeboy London, Peter O’Connor & Jules Mahon of Dalcassian Wines & Spirits, and The Shed Distillery Marketing Manager Seán MacGabhann.

The other three finalists in the competition were; Leah O’Connor of The Shelbourne Hotel, Peter Polak of Cask Bar Cork, and Valentin Veliz of The Ivy Dublin.

Oisín will now go on on to take part in a a three day mentor experience with Brian Taft, Head Distiller at The Shed Distillery. He will then jet off to London to the Homeboy Bar to work alongside Aaron Wall.
