A group of US media representatives was in Ireland were, invited by representatives of The Leading Hotels of The World group, to sample some of Ireland’s hotels, including Ashford Castle, Co Mayo, The Marker and The Merrion Hotel, Dublin.
As part of the visit, Fáilte Ireland organised a walking tour of Galway City to highlight what Galway and the West of Ireland has to offer and sample some local Irish dishes at McCambridge’s of Galway.
The group, with a combined audience of over 10m, will feature Ireland in some of the US high end online magazines, TV and newspapers such as HarpersBAZAAR.com; NBC Atlanta and Atlanta Journal Constitution; Linnea Covington, FoodRepublic.com, and New York and Forbes Travel Guide.
Ciara Sugrue, Head of International Publicity, Fáilte Ireland commented: “We are delighted to be involved with this project by providing a walking tour of Galway City. It has given us a wonderful opportunity to highlight all that the Wild Atlantic Way has to offer visitors with the hope that some of them will choose to visit our shores in the not too distant future."
