Tourism Video Highlights Ireland Onscreen

Trim Castle, Co. Meath, in the late afternoon as the sun sets

Tourism Ireland has released a new online film showcasing some of the locations around the island of Ireland where films and TV shows have been shot.

Titled Ireland as seen on screen, Tourism Ireland’s latest video was created to remind potential visitors why Ireland is such an in-demand location for filmmakers.

The video includes shots of Northern Ireland (where much of Game of Thrones was filmed), the Wild Atlantic Way (where two of the Star Wars films were shot), Co. Wicklow (where Vikings was filmed), Trim Castle (which starred in Braveheart) and Co. Wexford (where both Brooklyn and Saving Private Ryan were shot).

The film is being promoted through Tourism Ireland’s social platforms, including Facebook (more than 4.38m fans worldwide), Twitter (521,000 followers) and YouTube.
