Five tourism enterprises from around the island of Ireland joined Tourism Ireland at Meedex recently, a business tourism workshop which took place in Paris.
At the event, the participating Irish partners had the opportunity to meet and do business with around 150 French business tourism buyers, who are responsible for organising international conferences, meetings and large-scale incentive events around the world for their clients.
Tourism Ireland’s presence at Meedex is just one element of the organisation’s busy autumn promotional programme, which is in full swing right now. The programme aims to boost late-season travel to Ireland – from France and elsewhere around the world. The September to December period usually yields as much as 30% of Ireland’s annual overseas tourism business.
Finola O’Mahony, Tourism Ireland’s head of Europe, said: “Our presence at Meedex provided another valuable platform for Tourism Ireland and our industry partners to showcase and sell the island of Ireland and to build awareness of our world-class business and conference facilities.”
