Tourism Ireland Hosts Workshop in Nice

A group of Irish tourism companies travelled to Nice recently, to meet and do business with some 40 French travel agents based in and around the southern French city.

The workshop was organised by Tourism Ireland, in conjunction with Aer Lingus and Nice Airport, to promote ease of access from Nice to the island of Ireland and to grow tourist numbers from that part of France. Aer Lingus currently operates ten flights per week between Nice and Dublin, with a second Saturday flight from Nice scheduled for this summer.

The event was also an opportunity for Tourism Ireland to highlight the Wild Atlantic Way, the Causeway Coastal Route and The Gobbins Cliff Path, Ireland’s Ancient East and Dublin.

Elmagh Killeen, Tourism Ireland’s Manager for southern Europe, said: “We are delighted that so many of the influential travel agents in this part of France took the time to come and hear about our wonderful tourism offering and the many things to see and do on a holiday on the island of Ireland.”
