Top Australian tour operator Trafalgar has announced a major push for Ireland for 2015.
The tour operator has launched its 2015 programme, doubling its Ireland offering for next year with seven brand new itineraries featuring Ireland, making a total of 15 different Irish trips.
Matthew Cameron-Smith, Trafalgar MD, said: “We believe there’s a real affiliation between Australians and Ireland.” The expanded programme offers accommodation in castles and abbeys, providing a unique experience for clients.
Tourism Ireland has an extensive programme of promotions under way in Australia this autumn. As well as working with Trafalgar, Tourism Ireland will co-operate with a range of other key travel partners such as Emirates, Quantas Holidays, Insight Vacations and CIE Tours International.
In November, Tourism Ireland’s ten-day sales mission to Australia and New Zealand takes place; and a radio campaign on a popular radio station in Sydney, called 2GB, has just kicked off.
Diane Butler, Tourism Ireland’s manager for Australia and New Zealand, said: “Official figures from the CSO show strong growth of +8% in visitor numbers from Australia and New Zealand for the first six months of 2014. We are determined to ensure that growth continues and are undertaking a busy programme of activity in Australia this autumn.”
