Barry & Fitzwilliam has confirmed that the latest Tio Pepe En Rama release has become available on the Irish market, priced €18.99 from select stockists.
The theme of this year is #PerfectHarmony: The harmony between the silence of the cellars, the sounds of the workers and their tools and the cold Tio Pepe being poured into the bottle directly from cask.
Selected from 62 casks in the González Byass foundational cellars of La Constancia and Rebollo, the heart of Jerez, Spain, the 2018 Tio Pepe En Rama is particularly intense in character this year due to the cold, dry winter which enabled a compact cap of flor to form this year; creating a wine that is salty, sappy and concentrated.
The release is being stocked by Bradley's Supermarket, Mannings Emporium, Ballymaloe House, Whelehan's Wines, and online at www.WinesOfTheWorld.ie.
For Antonio Flores, Winemaker and Master Blender of González Byass, this years edition is “The very best interpretation of vine and cellar, chalk dust and long hours spent selecting this very unique, fresh wine: harmonious, like the sound of a guitar in the stillness of the afternoon.”
The label for this year’s edition is also relying on the harmony between the traditional labels from historical archives and more modern traits inspired by newer González Byass labels.
