The Mustard Seed in Ballingarry, Co, Limerick, will host its annual International Women’s Day dinner on Sunday 8th March, the global day to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievement of women.
This is the fourth year that the Victorian country house has marked the occasion and is once again supported by Listowel Writers’ Week who will gift each guest with a complimentary literary work to take home.
The Mustard Seed IWD dinner menu costs €49 per person and will feature ingredients from head chef Angel Pirev’s favourite suppliers as well as the kitchen garden. Guests wishing to spend the night in one of the individually decorated rooms can avail of a special overnight rate of €55 B&B per person sharing. Pre booking is essential by contacting The Mustard Seed on 069 68508 or email email@example.com.
This year, guests to the Ireland’s Blue Book property will also receive a complimentary pass to the Maureen O’Hara exhibition which opened in 2018 in the Foynes Flying Boat and Maritime Museum. The Dublin born actress is one of Hollywood’s most celebrated leading ladies and having officially opened the Shannon Estuary Way located museum in 1989, remained its patron until her death in 2015. Her grandson, Conor Beau Fitzsimons, donated an extensive collection of the icon’s personal belongings and plans are in development to expand the exhibit to display the entire collection.
“We are very proud of Maureen O’Hara’s connection to the Foynes Flying Boat and Maritime Museum,” said the Mustard Seed’s John Edward Joyce. “We have no doubt that our guests will enjoy exploring her life and legacy by way of the wonderful showcase of her personal belongings and memorabilia which includes her Oscar statuette.”
