The Kings Head in Galway city has launched a special winter warmer drinks menu for the festive season, featuring a mix of classic drinks as well as innovative new creations.
The 800 year-old family run pub is a landmark in Galway city, and its interior of big open fireplaces and cosy nooks makes it an ideal setting for a warming glass of mulled wine, hot chocolate and more.
Top of the menu is the Kings Head mulled wine, made with red wine, whiskey, brandy, cranberry juice, cinnamon, cloves and star anise. There’s also a selection of hot chocolate options, from Havana infused hot chocolate with salted caramel, Havana Especial caramel hot chocolate, Baileys & amaretto hot chocolate, and Baileys & cinnamon coffee.
For those looking for something stronger to warm up with, there is hot buttered rum or a candy cane toddy made with Jameson Black Barrel, honey, Drambuie, Angostura Bitters, mint tea, lemon & cloves.
Paul Grealish of The Kings Head said: “Tradition is very important to us at The Kings Head, and this time of year there is nothing we love more than seeing friends and families come in and have a drink together to celebrate the festive season. This Christmas we wanted to take our drinks’ offering up a notch and have some fun with it, and we can’t wait to welcome the people of Galway in from the cold to enjoy a winter warmer drink with us.”
