The Guerrilla Gourmet Club presents a one-night-only pop-up dinner in the historic Royal College of Physicians of Ireland at 6, Kildare Street Dublin 2 on Friday 27 June 2014, at 7pm.
The hero ingredient will be the first of the season Connemara Hill Lamb, which has protected geographical status (PGI) and its unique flavours come from the diverse grasses, herbage and heathers of the Connemara terroir. The GG Club dinner will be the first in the country to serve this uniquely native lamb this season.
The GG Club brings together fledgling artisans from across the country and matches them with major brands of integrity, creating extraordinary dinners in unique settings. Based on the Irish tradition of the ‘meitheal’, the dinner uses anchor artisans with national and international profiles to support fledging artisan businesses.
Their summer dinner will bring together Stephen Gibson of Pichet along with the catering team at the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland. They will create a four-course meal to celebrate the best of Irish seasonality.
Guests will be free to wander through the College of Physicians including the magnificent library with books dating back to the 1600s. The RCPI resident historian will give a short talk on the history of the building.
Co-founder of the GGClub Ross Golden-Bannon said: “The Guerrilla Gourmet Club helps amplify the voices of fledgling artisans by matching them with major businesses of integrity and creating terroir dinners with great Irish chefs”.
