Teeling Whiskey has unveiled the fourth and penultimate bottling of he Revival, a limited edition commemorative single malt aged in bourbon and then Muscat Port barrels.
The Revival Volume IV was recently awarded Irish Whiskey of the Year at the 2017 Irish Whiskey Awards. The series was initially released to celebrate the opening of the Teeling Whiskey Distillery and will in total feature five unique blends, the final of which is set to appear in early 2018.
The fourth bottling of this series consists of 15 year-old single malt that was aged initially in ex-bourbon barrels before being finished for over 12 months in Muscat Port barrels that impart hints of citrus, rose petal and ripe peach. Limited to 10,000 bottles, the resulting single malt is then bottled at 46% with no chill filtration.
The Revival Volume IV promise ripe fruits and rich spices intermingled with creamy vanilla to give a dry, woody finish. The aroma is of ripe peach, pineapple and satsuma mandarin topped off with dry dark chocolate undertones.
Jack Teeling, Founder and Managing Director of Teeling Whiskey, commented; “We are delighted to launch our latest release in the award-winning Revival range, just 8 months out from having Irish whiskey come of age from our Newmarket distillery. Consisting of 15-Year-Old Single Malt finished in high quality Muscat Port casks, it is destined to be a classic and sought after release as it has already been crowned Irish Whiskey of the Year at the recent Irish Whiskey Awards as well as receiving a Liquid Gold Award and a 95 point rating in the 2018 Jim Murray Whisky Bible.”
