The Teeling Whiskey Distillery celebrated four years since opening on 11th June, having generated close to €13m in revenue from its visitor centre during that period.
The distillery opened in June 2015 and marked the first new distillery in Dublin in over 125 years.
In the past four years, over 425,000 people have visited the distillery. A combination of visitors to the distillery, sales from the adjoining distillery café and gift shop, as well as sales from event space rental, have generated a revenue figure of close to €13m for Teeling Whiskey.
Most recently, the distillery was granted €200,000 by Fáilte Ireland as part of the tourism body’s Dublin Surprising Stories grant scheme. The money will be used by Teeling Whiskey to evolve the distillery’s visitor experience in the years to come.
Teeling whiskey has claimed 15 significant awards since 2015, as well as being shortlisted as Europe’s Leading Distillery Tour for past two years at the World Travel Awards. This year, Teeling became the first Irish whiskey brand to win the World’s Best Single Malt award, scooping top prize for its 24 Year-Old Single Malt.
