Snacks giant Tayto has released two new limited edition flavours of its ever-popular crisps, as chosen by members of the public in a recent blind taste competition.
The flavours might not scream a culinary experience to rival a Michelin-starred chef, but with a majority of 500 taste testers deciding these to be the new crisp of choice, who are we to argue? Then again with Spare Rib and Bacon Melt flavour crisps, we are perhaps within our rights to groan.
A shout out was made on Facebook for people to volunteer to become a ‘Tayto Top Secret Taste Tester’, and over 6,000 people applied to take part. A group of 500 were chosen and sent out a Tayto Tester parcel.
To help push the launch Saturday 5th October will be Flavours Day at Tayto Park, where families will enjoy a day out and can enter a competition to be in with a chance to win €3,000, an annual pass to Tayto Park, and a supply of their favourite Tayto crisps.
The new flavours are available for a limited period only.
