Dutch tour operators, travel agents and online travel agents attended Tourism Ireland’s recent travel trade workshop in Amsterdam.
Nine tourism companies from the island of Ireland took part in the annual workshop, including representatives from B&B Ireland, Causeway Coast and Glens, Dublinia, and Visit Derry.
The schedule included a series of one-to-one meetings, giving the participating companies from Ireland a platform to do business for 2020 with the Dutch travel professionals. The workshop also provided Tourism Ireland with an opportunity to announce Taste the Island in the Netherlands, the new Fáilte Ireland developed tourism initiative involving more than 500 food and drink-related experiences over 59 days.
Irish Ambassador to the Netherlands, HE Kevin Kelly, was in attendance to welcome the guests.
“We were delighted that these Dutch travel agents and tour operators took the time to meet with our partners from the island of Ireland, to learn about our tourism offering and to encourage them to extend the Ireland content of their existing programmes and itineraries, or to include the island of Ireland for the first time in their 2020 programmes,” said Karen van der Horst, Tourism Ireland’s Manager in the Netherlands.”
