It’s Sunday night fever at Galway’s Loam, with the first in a planned series of disco nights taking place this October 21st.

From 6pm onwards, Loam will be talking italian with a wine and cheese night, followed by disco and dancing. The evening will get off to a start with a sparkling Col Tamarie, a bottle refermented prosecco, accompanied by some Italian disco tunes from resident DJ – and Loam Sous Chef – Cian “Tune” Mooney, or DJ Moonetti, as he will be known on the night.

Other wines on the evening include an orange wine from the Demeter-certified biodynamic San Fereolo Coste di Riavolo, and a red Avignonesi Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. The complementing Italian cheeses include a semi-soft taleggio, a gorgonzola and a pecorino. After 8pm the volume will get louder as the Italian disco tunes will take over the restaurant until late, and the wine bar will stay open.

On Sunday November 25th, the party will start over again with a focus on French cheese and natural, biodynamic, organic or low-intervention French wines, with DJ Cian “Tune” Mooney delivering French electro for the evening.
