Stillgarden Distillery is celebrating Earth Day by hosting a series of sustainability workshops and community initiatives throughout the month of April, championing their social botanist programme, arranging community foraging trips and encouraging local involvement to help create a greener environment.
The Dublin 8 distillery will also be launching the giveaway of 500 grow kits. The promotion will take place on April 22nd in a bid to encourage the Irish community to cultivate their very own botanical garden at home.
April also plays host to 420 day (or 4/20) on Wednesday April 20th. On this day Stillgarden will be revealing a limited batch hemp cocktail, aptly named ‘Sweet Mary Gin’, which is available to purchase at the distillery or directly from their website at €12.50 for 200mls.
Made with an orange gin, hemp milk, citrus and tonka bean, this cocktail packs a zesty punch which is rounded off with nutty undertones and finished with lingering hints of vanilla. Along with a traditional pot still, Stillgarden Distillery uses vacuum distillation to capture the fresh flavour of botanicals. ‘Sweet Mary Gin’ is best served chilled over ice in a tumbler.
Luke O’Meara Head Distiller at Stillgarden Distillery, said: “Since launching in 2020, Stillgarden has always aimed to unify science, nature and community. The plans we have for this coming month exemplify that ensuring that the local community as well as our surrounding environs benefits from our efforts while employing some serious mad scientist know-how to create a one of a kind, limited edition cocktail, Sweet Mary Jane. We’re so excited to hear the feedback from this one as we carve out a space for ourselves as being as environmentally minded as we are inventive.”
