The Spirit of the City festival is to take place in three Irish cities this year, following on from its successful inaugural event in Cork City last year.
Celebrating emerging craft breweries and distilleries, this year’s Sprit of the City kicks off in Cork from April 18th to 21st. This will be followed by Waterford from May 2nd to May 5th, moving on to Limerick from June 27th to June 30th.
Each four day event will include cocktail demonstrations from award-winning mixologists, food from local street food vendoes, as well as performances from fire breathers, live bands and DJs throughout the day and night.
So far, over 25 Irish drinks brands are scheduled to attend events in each city – including Drumshambo Gunpowder Gin, Garnish Island Gin, Bertha’s Revenge Gin, Beara Ocean Gin, West Cork Whiskey, Teelings Whiskey and Hyde Whiskey.
Comedian Bernard Casey and singer Mickey Joe Hart will take the stage in each city.
The event was conceived by Main Stage Events, itself founded in 2018 by former schoolteacher and serial entrepreneur, Kevin Collins, and sound and light engineer, Des Mahon.
Kevin Collins, Founder of Main Stage Events, said: “Ireland’s love of quality food and drink is growing and growing. For a small country, we have some of the best gin, whiskey, beer and food producers in the world and this is equally matched by our passionate hospitality and entertainment talent. Spirit of the City is all about bringing these elements together in a weekend of celebration and exploration in Ireland’s best-loved cities.”
Tickets are on sale now from www.spiritofthecityfestival.ie, priced at €19 excluding booking fee.
