Luttrellstown Castle Resort has confirmed a continued investment into its continued renovation, which originally commenced in 2017.

The additional investment will deliver a further eight bedrooms to the current 12 bedroom stock, and is predicted for completion in April 2020. Up to 50 guests will be accommodated once the construction works are finished.

Over the past number of years, the castle underwent an extensive investment and has been restored to its former glory by interior designer Arlene McIntyre of Ventura Design.

Increased business from high spending, US-based customers and high value domestic clients has made a big impact on the resort in recent years. 47% of Luttrellstown’s clientele travels from the US and this is predicted to increase in 2020. Many US and UK-based high net worth individuals love the idea of having an Irish castle to themselves, and indeed celebrities including David and Victotia Beckham have celebrated their wedding at Luttrellstown.

The wedding market currently makes up 60% of the resort’s business followed by corporate entertainment at 15% with the remainder made of up of private family gatherings and afternoon tea/lunch dates throughout the year. Luttrellstown Castle Resort will play host to over 60 weddings through 2019.

According to Ivan King, General Manager of Luttrellstown Castle Resort: “We are really excited about the next stage refurbishment and renovation of Luttrellstown Castle. At every stage, we seek to bring the highest level of luxury and exclusivity to the castle and honour its history and heritage. There is a very active market of visitors, especially from the US, who seek privacy, top level Irish hospitality, fine dining and true heritage along with the extras of golf and fishing and we look forward to hosting even more guests into 2020 and beyond.”
