The Business Post Media Group (BPMG) has recently acquired Hospitality Expo from SDL Exhibitions. Sean Lemass, the expo’s founder, is staying with the business, and plans are underway to make Hospitality Expo 2020, taking place in the RDS Simmonscourt on 25th & 26th February, an extra special event.
“Dynamic plans are underway to make this event the number one showcase for the hospitality sector in 2020 and a ‘must-do’ for all professionals in the industry,” according to Show Director Kevin Grace.
“The investment by Business Post Media Group, owners of the flagship Sunday Business Post, supported by Kilcullen Kapital Partners, is an exciting development for Hospitality Expo and the hospitality sector as a whole,” said Kevin. “The industry is still quite fragmented, we need to consolidate and build bigger and better expos and events that showcase all that is positive and exciting about our industry.”
“There is still a lot of duplication of effort and wasted money & resources in the hospitality sector, especially when it comes to expos and events,” said Colm O’Reilly, Director of BPMG and former senior executive at Diageo. “We can bring real value and efficiencies. We can build bigger and better events and in doing so shine a light on all that is good and progressive in the Irish hospitality sector as a whole.”
This also now means that Food For Thought – FFT.ie, which is an independent trade brand, will be joining the Group – together with Irish Hospitality Global, a network of the owners and managers of Irish pubs and venues around the world.
All of this will be part of this consolidation as a value driver that will serve Ireland’s food, drinks and hospitality businesses with an extremely effective, multi-faceted communication platform in print and digital.
Business Post Media Group has also acquired leading events company iQuest Events, under the management of Managing Director Sarah Murphy a former senior events organiser with the Irish Post in London, adding significantly to the Group’s event capacity and experience.
Business Post Media Group’s intentions to grow its business internationally is evident in its other recent investments and acquisitions, which include artificial intelligence and machine learning enabled diaspora engagement company Tribe101, as well as the Irish franchise of the London Speakers Bureau.
For Food for Thought, which has years of experience working in all aspects of the food, drinks & hospitality sector, the publication is now in a unique position to partner closely with the Business Post Media Group.
And as we celebrate Food for Thought’s 10th year in business in early 2020, we are looking forward to being an ever more valuable asset for Ireland’s food, drinks & hospitality businesses & all of those eager to support & work with them.
