The Panel of Chefs Ireland have launched the All Ireland Chef of the year Culinary Championships, which will be held on 16th and 17th February 2021.

As a result of COVID 19 restrictions, this year’s competition will be organised and held in closed identified kitchens that meet the requirements of the competition rules.  The competition is broken down into junior and senior levels.

The Championships are endorsed by Worldchefs, the governing body of chefs associations worldwide.

The Panel of Chefs Ireland mission is to promote quality and excellence in all activities related to the culinary arts, in particular the development of the craft in Ireland. This virtual culinary event affords members and all chefs throughout Ireland the opportunity to display their culinary skills, creativity, innovation and techniques.

Entries are limited to 50 teams for each the junior and senior competitions.  Following a series of cook-offs, 8 teams will compete in each category final.

As part of the rules, all competitors must submit a written three course menu with two high resolution photographs of each finished dish.  Two hours wil be allowed for one chef and one assistant to prepare, cook, and present in their own working kitchen a three course menu to include a starter course (must feature Irish fish or seafood), a main course (must feature Irish beef, lamb, pork, poultry, or game), and a dessert (must feature chocolate as an ingredient and a biscuit garnish).

All competitors will be required to observe COVID 19 Health and Safety regulations including Social distancing and personal hygiene practices throughout the competition heats and final.
