Lough Mask Distillery in Co. Mayo is making a limited number of their Inaugural Year Whiskey Casks available for sale.
The casks will be filled only from the first years’ whiskey production at the distillery, and cask owners can have their whiskey bottled and labelled with their own bespoke labels once the spirit has matured.
Co-founder and Head Distiller, Eoin Holmes, commented: “There is huge interest amongst whiskey enthusiasts, collectors, investors, the Irish diaspora and businesses in purchasing their very own casks of whiskey.”
“This”, Eoin said, “is an opportunity for people to become part of a little bit of Irish distilling history. Plus, tthey’ll ultimately be the owners of their own label, very rare, premium Irish whiskey.”
“We’re a little bit counter culture here in Mayo – to make something unique and special out here on the edge of the wild Atlantic ye need to have a bit of an edge, not be afraid to go against the grain. Ours is a real artisan distillery. Half the equipment here has been adapted, up-cycled or recycled. Our stills are handmade superb craftspeople and are based on designs that hark back to the dawn of distilling.”
There are just 40 Inaugural Year Whiskey Casks available, with enquiries already coming in from as far afield as the US, Canada, UK, Germany, Italy, Singapore.
