Just in time for the summer, Cafollas has opened on Dun Laoghaire Pier serving up coffee, ice cream, sandwiches, treats, and more.

Open 7 days a week, the summer opening hours are 8am to 9pm. There’s even Puppachinos and drinking water available for furry friends.

Each week, a favourite will be picked from photos uploaded and tagged #cafollasonthepier – with the winner getting their next order free.

At Cafollas on the Pier, premium soft serve ice cream is served as Sundaes, Waffle Baskets, Trays, Cones, Tubs and more, in flavours such as Bueno Delux, Oreo Nutella, Biscoff Lotus Crunch and Rocky Road, elevated with a range of 17 toppings, 6 syrups and 7 sauces. Priced from €2.60 for a plain cone, to €5.80 for Sundaes etc. There’s also the option of a Vegan Choc Chip Ice Cream Sandwich for €5.

Two Fifty Square speciality coffee is served Barista style from an Americano for €3 to a Cortado for €3.20, with teas being sourced from Wall & Keogh. From the menu of Special Drinks, there’s hot and iced options, such as the Aero Mint Hot Chocolate or the Iced Unicorn – a confection of iced strawberry milk, unicorn syrup, whipped cream, sprinkles and a unicorn flake. There’s also pastries, tartlets, cakes, doughnuts, biscuits, and cakes.

There’s weekly artisan sandwich specials such as The Chicken Chorizo with chipotle chicken, Spanish chorizo, roasted plum tomatoes, avocado and lime aioli and peppery rocket on sourdough.

At the helm is Paolo Cafolla of the Cafolla family, who have held onto the Cafolla ice cream parlours on O’Connell Street for over a century.

All products are sourced ethically, and will be recyclable or compostable, with over 95% waste being recycled too. Paolo is on the lookout for new locations, whether in the city or on the coast.
