There is a brand-new category at the World Bread Awards this year. It is the ‘Food NI Potato Bread in Memory of Charles Campion’. This category will feature traditional potato bread made with ingredients including potato and flour.

“The award has been created in memory of Charles Campion, a distinguished food writer and devoted champion of Northern Irish foods and is a fitting tribute to his work. This competition is an excellent opportunity for our bakeries to showcase their potato bread and gain recognition for their talents” says Food NI CEO, Michele Shirlow.

Any bakeries interested in entering their potato bread should contact Oonagh at or for more information visit the World Bread Awards website

Closing date for entries is the 9th of October.
