Mr. Waffle gets Pancaked for Charity

Galway café Mr. Waffle in Newcastle is gearing up for their biggest Pancake Tuesday yet. Since 2012 Mr. Waffle has raised over €5,000 for west of Ireland based charity ACT for Meningitis - this year they are hoping to hit Galway’s sweet spot and ensure that they raise over €1,000 in doing so.

On Tuesday 5th March, Pancake Tuesday, there will be freshly made pancakes happening all day with all sales from premade pancakes going to ACT for Meningitis. To give an idea of how much Galway people love pancakes, Mr. Waffle will use 200 litres of fresh pancake batter, 200 punnets of strawberries and 100 cases of Nutella!

"This is our busiest day of the year by far. We now have 54 staff across our cafes and 16 in Mr. Waffle itself and its instilled in every one of them the importance of doing positive things in our community. That the sales are important but it is also a day to create awareness and funds for our chosen charity," explained owner Kevin Nugent.

All day pancakes to go are €6 for 5 pancakes. Mr Waffle is open from 7.30am - 6pm.
