A new Mad Egg restaurant is set to open later this summer at Dundrum Town Centre, the fried chicken brand’s first shopping centre location.
Founded by Conor Sheridan & Stephen O’Reilly in March 2018, Mad Egg has proved a success in Dublin with two city centre locations, on Charlotte Way and Millennium Walk.
The company uses free range chicken in its dishes, which is brined in tea for 48 hours before being double dredged in buttermilk, then coated in house seasoned mix to create a crunch and spice. Popular items on the menu include fried chicken sandwiches, and a DIY cheesecake.
The new Mad Egg restaurant, which boasts a terrace, will be located in the Pembroke District, adjacent to the Pembroke Square development project. Mad Egg joins a number of high profile restaurants signed up for the scheme including Fallon & Byrne’s new specialty food hall, Leon, PF Chang’s and J2 Sushi.
Earlier this year, Dundrum Town Centre also confirmed that Press Up Entertainment Group had agreed plans to open Stella Bowl, a new eight lane bowling alley as part of the major new dining and entertainment operation within the Pembroke District. The bowling alley will also include a new cocktail bar and diner.
In addition, the vision for Pembroke Square will also bring a new 6,000 sq ft public space.
Don Nugent, General Manager of Dundrum Town Centre, said: “We are continuing to transform Dundrum Town Centre by offering our customers even more choice in dining and leisure options. Mad Egg has been a really exciting addition to the Irish food scene and we are delighted that they have chosen to open their third branch at Dundrum Town Centre.”
Conor Sheridan, Managing Director of the Mad Egg Restaurant Group, said: “We are really excited to launch Mad Egg in Dundrum Town Centre, it is one of the best retail spaces in the country and Dundrum has an awesome vision of what an entertainment district should be. We can’t wait to be part of the new wave of entrants into the space.”
