Louis Fitzgerald has snapped up the iconic Tigh Neachtain pub on Galway’s Cross Street for an undisclosed sum.
Mr. Fitzgerald declined to reveal how much he paid for the premises, but said that he is happy for the current tenants to continue to operate the famous pub.
The Louis Fitzgerald Group owns over a dozen high profile pubs and hotels in Ireland, including The Palmerstown House and the Arlington Hotel.
Tigh Neachtain has been in continual operation since 1894 and is regularly cited in tourism books as a go-to destination.  Its central location ensures heavy footfall year round.
