The team behind Meet Me in the Morning and its sister café, Reference Coffee, has officially opened its latest venture, Loose Canon Cheese & Wine on Drury St.
Loose Canon has a focus on natural wines and cheese, served in a chic space at bespoke mahogany and marble counters, handmade by co-owner Brian O’Caoimh.
Loose Canon will open daily from 10.30 am, selling curated cheese and wines along with a selection of toasted cheese sandwiches at lunchtime.
On six evenings a week there will be a selection of cheeseboards, Irish charcuterie from Gubbeen, The Wooded Pig and Broughgammon Farm to enjoy, as well as the opportunity to discover wines by the glass, or to share a bottle from the shelves with a small corkage fee.
The partners behind this latest venture, Brian O’Caoimh and Kevin Powell, are ardent fans of both natural wine and great cheese. Kevin worked as a cheesemaker with Corleggy Cheeses for three years and Brian founded the Coutume natural wine pop-up during his time as manager of the renowned Parisian café on the Left Bank’s rue de Babylone.
