Listowel’s local food hero, Lizzy Lyons, will make an appearance on the cookery demo stage at this year’s Dingle Food Festival on Sunday, 6th October.
The owner of Lizzy’s Little Kitchen, which was recently named as one of the Top 100 Stores in Ireland by Retail Excellence, is a regular on Virgin Media’s Weekend AM and has chosen to showcase a dish that was specially created for her cookery slot.
“In 2017 the producer of what was then called Sunday AM asked me if I could create a homemade ‘wagon wheel’ to surprise the actor Patrick Ryan who was appearing on the show the same day as me. Patrick played Garda Paudge Brennan on the TV series Red Rock and the character’s go to treat was the wagon wheel,” explained the Listowel native.
Lizzy will take to the demo marquee in Dingle on Sunday 6th October at 3.00pm, on Orchard Lane off the Main Street in Dingle. Entry is free and everyone will receive a copy of Lizzy’s collection of 10 favourite recipes courtesy of Flogas Ireland.
Lizzy will also be at Taste of Dublin Festival Edition, taking place at the RDS, Dublin, this coming 28th November – 1st December, hosting a workshop focusing on how to make simple but delicious home made gifts.
Billed as Ireland’s ultimate winter food festival, Taste of Dublin Festive Edition will showcase a wide range of producers, restaurants, experiences as well as hosting a range of cookery masterclasses by a number of well-known chefs.
