Kevin Pigott, a spoken word artist from Athlone a brand ambassador for Tullamore Dew, has releases a special spoken word piece dedicated to the pubs of Ireland ahead of the May bank holiday.
Kevin’s piece, captured in a video directed by Ger Walsh, celebrates Irish pubs and the unique moments that often take place within.
Citing little moments and interactions, along with all the hustle and bustle the pubs have to offer, Kevin delivers the lament to the Irish pub with a sense of pride and love.
Kevin said: “Irish pubs are museums you can drink in. They contain a living legacy of a cultural cornerstone that is slowly being eroded in the modern era. I wanted to create a spoken word piece with the talented director Ger Walsh to remind us of the beauty of these cultural relics. My friends gave me inspirations with their musings about the Irish pub whilst the talented Cormac Lally helped me out in structuring and rewriting certain pieces of the poem.”
The pub’s across Ireland featured in the piece include: The Palace, Devitts, The George, Grogan’s, The Cobblestone, all in Dublin; as well as Tigh Neachtain in Galway and The Courtyard in Leixlip.
