Ketel One Vodka Takes Over Opium

Premium vodka brand is taking over Dublin’s Opium restaurant this November 17th, for a one day only brunch event.

The event is taking place at the Botanical Garden at Opium, from 1pm – 4.30pm, and will feature a varied brunch spread curated by Opium Head Chef, Philip Hughes, accompanied by pan-Asian inspired cocktails.

Guests will have the opportunity to try their hand at creating a Ketel One Thai Mary during a masterclass guided by brand ambassador Nial Molloy, and bartenders Federico Rizzo and Carl D’Alton.

The masterclass will be followed by brunch, where guests can enjoy a Ketel & soda with an Asian twist, paired with a selection of starters to share such as chargrilled turmeric & lemongrass chicken satay rolls with Thai basil, carrot, red cabbage, iceberg and peanut dip; and Japanese style panko tempura king prawns with sriracha mayo. This will be followed by mains with an Asian twist such as Bo Ssãm Benedict – poached egg, English muffin, and lemongrass scented hollandaise with slow roast char siu pork; as well as crab po boy – tempura soft shell crab, Vietnamese slaw, beef tomato, and baby gem, as well as a mix of Buddha Bowls.

Carl D’Alton will then present his own specially crafted Ketel One Irish mule. This cocktail was presented by Carl at the Diageo World Class Bartender of the Year 2018 in Berlin, where he placed as the 3rd best bartender Europe, and 12th in the world.

To finish, guests can enjoy a Ketel One espresso martini with a selection of desserts made to pair, followed by a disco in the kitchen.
