The Jo’Burger Restaurant Group has entered liquidation, forcing the closure of some of Dublin’s most popular restaurants.
The group owns a number of award-winning restaurants, including Hey Donna, Crackbird, and the eponymous Jo’Burger, and said it would cease trading immediately in a surprise announcement on December 14th.
The company is owned by Joe Macken and opened its first outlet, Jo’Burger Rathmines, in 2007. Crackbird on Dame St had recently been remodelled to become a second Hey Donna restaurant.
In a statement, the company said: “A combination of factors including challenging trading conditions have forced this move. Jo’burger, Crackbird, Hey Donna and Bar Giuseppe will cease trading effective immediately.”
It is not yet known the number of staff affected by the closure.
