With almost 100 entries and after two days of judging at the Dublin Institute of Technology’s School of Culinary Arts and Food Technology, the shortlisted products for the Irish Café Quality Food Awards have been announced.
The awards, now in their second year, set out to recognize excellence in Ireland’s cafes and the products they serve.
A shortlist of 11 cafes and 43 food and drink products across 16 categories are now in with a chance to win an Irish Café Q award, to be presented on 8th September at FIRE Restaurant at the Mansion House, Dublin.
Organised by Metropolis Business Media, group events manager Lara Newton commented: “We have been blown away by the incredible standard of products available and by the warm welcome customers receive in Ireland’s cafes. It has been a difficult job for our teams of expert judges, but we are very proud of the shortlist announced today, and delighted for our finalists. As former winners can testify, picking up an Irish Café Quality Food Award is a powerful marketing tool, with many winners using the awards’ logo in their café, on packaging and in national press, television and advertising.”
Headline sponsor for the awards is packaging company Graphic Packaging International. The awards are also sponsored by Coeliac Society of Ireland, who played a role during the judging process of the expanded ‘Free From’ categories, and Sacla’.
The event is reprising its consumer media partnership with Easy Food Magazine and has a new trade media partnership with FFT.ie.
As well, the shortlist for the Irish Quality Food & Drink Awards have been released. These awards set out to recognise excellence in food and drink product development from a wide variety of companies across Ireland. Over 400 shortlisted food and drink products in 97 categories are now in with a chance to win one of the awards in a ceremony hosted by Rachel Allen, on 8th September at the Round Room at the Mansion House, in Dublin.
