Ireland’s Most Southerly Pub up for Sale

Unique location, well furbished.

Unique location, well furbished.

The most southerly pub in Ireland, located on the popular Cape Clear island, has been put up for sale with an asking price of €250,000.

O Drisceoil’s is a purpose built bar and restaurant on the island and was first opened in 1997 by local couple Ciarán and Mary O’Driscoll, who are selling on the premises in favour of a new business venture elsewhere.  Included in the sale is six self catering holiday homes finished to a high standard and an unfinished 12 bed residential development.

Cape Clear is a popular holiday destination and attracts strong seasonal trade.  The island is also home to two Irish language colleges, another pub and a shop & cafe.  A new harbour and dock is currently under construction which should see an increase in visitor numbers.
