Around 650 Indian travel executives are scheduled to visit Ireland over the coming month, in a series of tours organised by Thomas Cook India.

Thomas Cook India, headquartered in Mumbai, has partnered with Tourism Ireland for the visits.

Four separate groups, totalling 650 people, will travel here between now and early July. The visitors represent the MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and events) travel segment and are made up of senior business executives, who travel to a different overseas destination each year as a reward for their performance over the previous year.

Tourism Ireland in India worked closely with Thomas Cook India in advance of the visit, making several presentations to convince them to choose Ireland over other competing destinations and suggesting various locations for their final programme.

Each tour will last for four days and will include visits to attractions including Malahide Castle, the Guinness Storehouse and Trinity College. The visits will also include morning activities at The Orchard Centre in Co. Wicklow. The groups will stay at a premium hotel and their multi-cuisine meals will be curated by a high end Dublin restaurant.

In 2018 an estimated 45,000 visitors travelled to Ireland from India, according to Tourism Ireland.
