Thirty-five of the top coach and group tour operators in Germany are visiting Ireland this week, as guests of Tourism Ireland.

They are here to attend a networking event with Irish tourism companies in Galway, and to take part in a fact-finding visit of Ireland designed to encourage them to include Ireland as a new destination in their 2015 programmes or to expand the Ireland content of their existing programmes.

The group’s itinerary – designed by Fáilte Ireland – includes key attractions like Strokestown Park, Donegal Castle, Slieve League, Drumcliffe, the Foxford Woollen Mills and Clonmacnoise.

Zoë Redmond, Tourism Ireland’s manager for Central Europe, said: “Fact-finding visits like this are an important element of our overall promotional effort in Germany, providing an excellent opportunity to showcase the many things to see and do in Ireland to key travel decision-makers.
