A group of French travel professionals visited Ireland recently, as guests of Tourism Ireland, Fáilte Ireland and Culture & Heritage Tours Ireland.
The group included representatives of online travel agencies and traditional tour operators, all specialising in luxury travel. They explored Dublin while visiting, as well as Ireland’s Ancient East, taking in a musical experience at Windmill Lane Studios, as well as visits to Glendalough, Powerscourt Waterfall and the Irish National Stud. Their itinerary also included Cork, with a tour of the English Market and a visit to Fota Wildlife Park.
Monica MacLaverty, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Southern Europe, said: “We were delighted to invite these French travel professionals to Ireland. Their visit was an opportunity to showcase our luxury tourism offering. Our aim is that when they return home, they will be even more enthusiastic about the destination, helping to secure a greater share of their luxury travel business for Ireland.”
France is one of the top four markets for tourism to the island of Ireland, and 2018 was another record-breaking year for French visitor numbers to Ireland with over 560,000 travellers.
