Flying Tumbler Irish Whiskey has officially launched into the Irish market.
Founded by Patrick, Thomas, Jen & Eric Walsh, Flying Tumbler recently unveiled its first expression – The Bird.
After years apart, working in various corners of the globe, the Walshs returned to Ireland and worked with distilling experts to release small batches of independent Irish whiskey that tell stories of their travels.
With their family farm in Co. Carlow as a base, they drew inspiration from family roots and their travels further afield. The team designed and bottled everything in-house.
Eric said: “The Bird is a truly unique blend that we have carefully crafted using Irish techniques specifically with classic whiskey cocktail drinkers in mind. For our inaugural blend, we have blended casks of grain and malt whiskies matured in a mix of ex bourbon and ex oloroso sherry casks. The result is a whiskey that’s vanilla forward on the nose, has a smooth mouthfeel and finishes with with notes of vanilla, figs and raisins, the ideal accompaniment for any classic whiskey cocktail.”
Flying Tumbler Irish Whiskey has been bottled at 43% ABV and is for sale at an RRP of €58. It is available to buy online or at most good independent off trade retailers including Michell & Son, James J. Fox, Jus de Vine, Blackrock Cellar, Sweeneys D3, Molloys and Wine Centre Kilkenny.
