Fáilte Ireland has appointed Jenny De Saulles as Director of Sector Development, a new role within the National Tourism Development Authority.
Jenny, who was previously Head of Ireland’s Ancient East at Fáilte Ireland, will lead a new directorate within the organisation focusing on building industry resilience in the face of the challenges that the sector is facing.
Jenny will lead the development and implementation of programmes of activity around labour supply and skills, market retention and diversification, accommodation and quality assurance.
Speaking about her new role, Jenny De Saulles said: “I’m very much looking forward to this new and exciting role. Over the last ten years with Fáilte Ireland, I have worked closely with the tourism industry and now, as Director of Sector Development, I will be focusing on the key areas of capability, capacity and quality to sustainably generate economic activity across the country.”
CEO of Fáilte Ireland, Paul Kelly, said: “I’m delighted to announce that, following a competitive recruitment process, Jenny De Saulles will lead Fáilte Ireland’s newest directorate of Sector Development. The overall softening of outbound tourism from our major markets, increased cost pressures combined with the impact of Brexit are real challenges that the tourism industry now face.”
