Tourism Ireland has welcomed the recent visit by King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands, calling it a unique opportunity to encourage Dutch holidaymakers to visit Ireland in 2019.
During their time here, the royal couple enjoyed Irish culture, food and hospitality – with visits to Dublin and Cork, including Cobh and Camden Fort Meagher in Crosshaven.
A number of Dutch journalists joined the couple to cover the visit, bringing the story to people across the Netherlands. Tourism Ireland aims to inspire Dutch holidaymakers to come and follow in the royal couple’s footsteps.
Promotional activity to leverage the tourism benefits of the visit included social media activity on Facebook and Twitter, sharing images of the royal couple’s visit and joining in the positive online conversations about Ireland.
