There were smiles all round recently at Dawn Meats, as the Waterford-based meat supplier took home Silver and Bronze awards at the 7th annual Blas na hÉireann Irish Food Awards, held as part of the Dingle Food Festival.
The company picked up Silver for their Teriyaki stir fry strips, and Bronze for their Premium Butcher lamb leg.
Additional to the product awards, Dawn Meats also won Best in County for Waterford and were placed in the Top 10 of the Chefs Choice award for the Premium Butcher lamb leg.
Blas na hEireann is the biggest blind tasting competition of its kind in the world – each product is blind tasted by a panel of judges made up of top chefs, foodies and food scientists from UCC. The awards are a fantastic opportunity to not only celebrate great Irish products, but also the local suppliers and the individuals behind them.
