Copper Face Jacks nightclub continued to bring in the cash last year, with pre-tax profits coming in at €4.095m – or just over €78k each week.
Newly filed accounts from Breanagh Catering Ltd show that the company now sits on a cash pile of €63.78m, up from €59.84m the year previous. Pre-tax profits dipped from €5.16m to €4.09m as company directors and joint owners Cathal and Paula Jackson handed themselves a €1.28m bonus.
In the 12 months to the end of January 2018, revenues increased marginally from €9.41m to €9.54m. This amounts to just over €183k in revenue every week for the infamous late night venue.
The company has had a run of extremely profitable years, with figures hovering in the €4m to €5.5m bracket over the last five years.
Despite stiff competition in the area from other nightclubs, the directors note in the accounts that “the company is proactive in trying to stay ahead of competition”.
