The 31st annual Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards winners have been announced, with Dublin’s The Westbury being recognised as the number one hotel in Ireland.
Nearly half a million Condé Nast Traveler readers submitted a recording-breaking number of responses rating their travel experiences, noting their favourite cities, islands, hotels, resorts and cruise lines around the world.
Commenting on the award win, Vincent O’Gorman, General Manager of The Westbury Hotel, said: “We are thrilled to be voted the number one hotel in Ireland and take home such a prestigious award. At The Westbury we strive to provide our customers with a luxury experience like no other. Being the number one hotel in Ireland is a huge honour.”
Other destinations in the top ten included Ballyfin at number two, and The Lodge at Ashford Castle at number three.
Clontarf Castle came in at number ten on the list, marking the second year running the Dublin hotel made the list. Jason Ormston, General Manager of Clontarf Castle Hotel, said: “An award like this based on votes from the most important people – our guests – is a wonderful tribute to all the hard work and dedication of the whole team at Clontarf Castle Hotel.”
To celebrate the award, Clontarf Castle is offering a special package from €249 that includes overnight accommodation in a deluxe bedroom, dinner in Fahrenheit restaurant, and Artisan Castle breakfast the following morning.
The 2018 Readers’ Choice Awards are published on Condé Nast Traveler’s website at www.cntraveler.com/rca and will be celebrated in the November issue.
