The new four star Clayton Hotel Charlemont, located at 36 and 37 Charlemont St by the banks of Dublin’s Grand Canal, has officially opened.
The hotel, owned and operated by Dalata Hotel Group, took approximately 24 months and a €40m investment to complete. The opening of the hotel has also created 100 jobs.
The hotel’s design integrates the classical features of the existing three 18th century Georgian buildings with a brand new four storey building, with the transition from old to new showcased in the lobby space.
Housed within the Clayton Hotel Charlemont are 187 guest bedrooms, a fitness suite, six fully equipped meeting rooms and two dining concepts – Gaudens Restaurant and Lockside Bar/Social.
Gaudens Restaurant, named after sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens, who was born at 35 Charlemont Street, offers guests and visitors a restaurant option with views of the Grand Canal.
At Lockside Bar/Social, Dubliners and visitors can look forward to cocktails and small plates.
The menus at Clayton Hotel Charlemont are designed and prepared by head chef Anil Roy and his team.
The lobby space serves Red Bean Roastery Coffee, a signature blend of coffee exclusive to hotels within the Dalata Group. A stand-alone Red Bean Roastery Coffee Shop is set to open at 38 Charlemont Street in early 2020.
Lynn Cawley, General Manager at Clayton Hotel Charlemont, said: “We are excited to launch our brand new hotel. We recognised the importance of maintaining the luxury hotel experience of which guests at Clayton Hotels will be familiar, we look forward to exceeding our guests expectations at Clayton Hotel Charlemont.”
