Award-winning Canadian travel bloggers, Dave Bouskill and Debra Corbeil – authors of travel blog The Planet D – are visiting Ireland right now, bringing with them an audience of up to 800,000 fans.
Earlier this year Dave and Debra spent almost two weeks in Ireland, experiencing the Wild Atlantic Way. This time round they are exploring Dublin, the East and South East of Ireland, as well as Northern Ireland. The couple will also be attending the Adventure Travel World Summit, which takes place in Killarney next week.
The intrepid travellers are blogging and tweeting their way through their visit – with an itinerary featuring everything from a Game of Thrones archery experience in Co. Down and a visit to the iconic Giant’s Causeway, to a boat trip around the Saltee Island off the Wexford coast, a drive along the Copper Coast in Waterford and a walk through medieval Kilkenny.
Married for over 15 years, Dave and Debra travel the world, showcasing their real-time journey and broadcasting their stories and experiences through their writing, photos, video and engaging social media.
Often referred to as ‘Canada’s Adventure Couple’, their blog is considered to be one of the top travel blogs in the world, with an audience of about 800,000 across their own website and social media platforms. They are also regular contributors to Canada AM, the most watched breakfast TV show in Canada.
The Canadian market has performed strongly for tourism to Ireland in recent years. Visitor numbers are estimated to have grown by 28% between 2011 and 2013. In 2013 alone, approximately 125,000 Canadians visited, spending about €91m.
