Deal secures 120 jobs at the resort.

Breaffy House resort in Co. Mayo has been bought out of receivership by hotel management company Great National Asset Management, for a reported price of €3m.

The property comprises of two separate hotels amounting to 230 bedrooms along with 12 apartments, set on 90 acres of parkland.  There is also an attached leisure centre.  The hotel will now operate under the banner of Great National Hotels and Resorts.

The deal secures the future of 120 staff currently employed in the hotel and will also see investment provided for extensive refurbishment, set to begin immediately.

The Great National Group is based in Ennis, Co. Clare and provides facilities management for 35 hotels in Ireland and the UK.

Breaffy House initially went into receivership in 2011 following a large number of cancellations in the preceding months, and was previously owned by the Lynch Group.
