Silver Hill Farm in Monaghan has announced that leading premium meat supplier to the Michelin starred chefs in Germany, Otto Gourmet, will begin distribution of Silver Hill Farm fresh duck products.

The agreement was secured by Bord Bia Marketing Fellow, Eavan Fallon, who is currently working on business development assignments on behalf of a number of Irish food and drink companies in the country.

Silver Hill Farm currently exports 80% of produce and until now this excluded Germany. The company is now planning to grow sales in retail and food service in Germany to in excess of €1m in the next three years.

Stuart Steele, Managing Director, Silver Hill Farm said: “We identified Germany as a key market for us to break into and so we have been involved with the Bord Bia Marketing Fellowship programme for the last number of years. This relationship has recently produced excellent results as is evident with this news from Otto Gourmet”.

Bord Bia and the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School are also now seeking applications for the next Bord Bia Marketing Fellowship Programme, an intensive 12-month action learning programme giving successful candidates the combined opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with some of Ireland’s leading food companies while also gaining a masters degree.
