Blas @ Brownes this May

Brownes Restaurant Tuam will host its third annual Blas @ Brownes – Tuam Food Festival on Sunday the 12th of May 2019, from 12.30pm to 4.00pm.

Following on from the fantastic reception to the event in previous years, owners Stevie & Amanda Lane are once again hosting the free event that allows the public to interact with local producers, sample their produce and fill their cupboards with artisan foods.

The restaurant, which was awarded a coveted Michelin Bib Gourmand last October, serves a menu heavily sourced from local producers, many of whom will be showcasing and selling their goods on the day.

“We’re very fortunate to have so many great food heroes in the West of Ireland and Blas @ Brownes is a nice way for us to offer a chance for our customers to meet some of the best producers in the country,” said chef Stevie Lane.

Returning to the festival this year will be Galway Goat’s Cheese, Jeremiche Artisan Bread, Black Donkey Brewing, Westport Grove Jam, Gran Grans Foods, Totally Nutz Butter, Leahy Beekeeping, Brown Bag Donuts and Anita’s Healthy Treats Kitchen.

New to the festival this year are Black River Wild Foods, Ivy House Chocolates, Kylemore Farmhouse Cheese, Candy Floss Mayo, Wild Irish Foragers and Preserves, Little Cheesecake Shop and more.

Brownes’ themselves will be offering street food style bites in the main restaurant and there will be live music from local artists.

Gates will open at 12.30pm on Sunday, 12th May, with people free to come and go as they please throughout the afternoon.
