BaxterStorey Ireland Appoints New Managing Director

BaxterStorey Ireland has announced the appointment of Alan Russell as its new Managing Director, completing a refreshed leadership structure for the catering company.

Bringing over 25 years industry experience to the role, Alan has held senior roles at several catering companies, most recently Gather & Gather. Russell’s focus will be growing the business with an emphasis on talent attraction and retention.

Alan said: “I am delighted to be taking up the role of Managing Director at such a progressive and innovative business as BaxterStorey. Over the next twelve months, we will see the launch of some exciting nutrition and sustainability initiatives, as well as continued investment in training for our employees. I’m looking forward to working closely with our senior management team to continue pushing the boundaries of foodservice excellence.”

Anthony Reilly, Head of Food and Nutrition, joined the team earlier this year and brings over 20 years’ experience in delivering food that is locally sourced. Anthony was recently awarded a Master of Science in Applied Culinary Nutrition.

Anthony said: “I am lucky to work with such a passionate team here at BaxterStorey. Positive mood food that is purposeful to our clients, is nutritionally balanced, local, in season and on trend is central to our ethos. Sustainability is a key focus for us, it is important we support food producers local to our clients and continue to provide our customers with the freshest food made by our highly trained teams.”

Completing the new leadership structure with a focus on chef development is Gavin McDonagh. Gavin will focus on team coaching and training, helping individuals to develop their careers and professional expertise.

Gavin said: “Nurturing talent is a critical part to running a successful business and I am really looking forward to working on this with the team at BaxterStorey. BaxterStorey is founded on a commitment to training and I can’t wait to continue work with the chefs to develop the culinary stars of the future.”
