Authentic Italian Flavours from Taste with Gusto

Taste with Gusto, run by Franco Pastore, has been selling authentic high-quality Italian produce here in Ireland for the last 14 years. Carefully sourced from Puglia in Italy, the business sells a variety of delicatessen products, ranging from balsamic vinegar to pasta sauces, to public and restaurants alike, often taking the business to the streets with stints at food markets.

The Gusto range comprises of products that are difficult to source in Ireland such as rose, black and white balsamic vinegar, pastas, sauces, oils, sundried tomatoes, dips and artichokes.

“All our ingredients are natural, with no added sugar and as traditionally made as possible,” Franco explained. “The balsamic vinegar we sell is from a company that has been in business for 165 years.” Even the pasta – Gragnano – is created with only Italian wheat and is renowned for its rough texture, which allows sauce to cling more effectively to the pasta.

The business is also importing a very special extra virgin olive oil called Novello as it comes into season, and is fresh from the press. This very exclusive oil is only available for a couple of months of the year with an exceptionally fresh olive and slightly peppery taste.

The oil also has a very distinctive green tinge to its golden colour and a pulp-like consistency attesting to the high quality of this oil. This limited-edition stock will be available in half litre and litre quantities, from early November, with hopes to eventually provide five litre containers in the future.

Best sellers include balsamic vinegar, pastas such as linguine and trofie & orecchiette, their variety of oils, sundried tomatoes, olives and artichokes. Their best-selling pasta sauce cannonata & basil pesto are also arguably some of the best on the Irish market.

Taste with Gusto currently supplies restaurants such as Cornacopia, Bar Italia, Host in Ranelagh and Taste Food Company on South William Street. Purchasing from the product range is also a very straight forward system for businesses.

Franco advises that interested parties can get in contact by emailing to obtain a price list and have an account opened in their name.
